Homeowners Meeting Notes
At the Sanctuary Homeowners Board Meeting held on July 24th, the Board voted that, effective August 15, 2007; all homeowners must have trashcans with a secure lid so their trash does not blow around the neighborhood. It is also suggested that your name be printed on the cans and lids so that in case of high winds on trash day, your cans (and lids) can be identified and returned to you.
Any homeowner wanting to install the new outdoor lights should contact Anne Nelson. Currently she has orders for 5 lights, but needs another 5 to get to a total of 10 to qualify for a greater discount. Please call Anne at 303-690-6177 for more information.
The new Reserve Study that was just completed shows we have about $90,000 in excess reserves, which can be put toward the cost of a new fence along Jordan Rd and at the corner of Caley and Carson.
TruGreen is quitting the landscape business as of August 31. We are soliciting bids from new companies and there is a lot of interest. Two of the companies we've contacted do lawn care for the two HOAs at Windmill Creek Reserve, just to the south of us.
Social Committee News
The annual Clean-up Day was Saturday, June 2nd and about 50 neighbors gathered on Hanna’s driveway to enjoy coffee, juice and homemade scones (from Deliteful Tastes) before heading out to clean up trash, pull weeds and other chores. A mid-morning brunch (also provided by Deliteful Tastes) was a great time for sitting down together and catching up on the events in our lives. It was a beautiful day and a good time for all who attended.
Fall Fest
Make plans to attend our annual Oktoberfest party on Saturday, September 22nd at 5:00 pm. The location will be at the Blackhawk Bier Garten or in case of inclement weather, the Kortz’s lovely spic-n-span garage. All the usual German traditional fare will be provided, beer, brats, wine, potato salad, sauerkraut, etc, as well as oom-pa-pa music to get you tapping your feet. Put it on your calendar now!
Bunco
Beginning again this fall, Bunco is a fun way for the women in our neighborhood to get together each month. We will meet Thursday, September 13th at 6:30 at Anne Nelson’s – 14142 E. Maplewood. Bring an hors d’eouevre to share, and $5.00 to play. Call Anne at 303-690-6177 to reserve your spot.

Chemical Disposal
Household Chemical Roundup, sponsored by the City of Aurora, will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 9:00am until 4:00pm at 13645 E. Ellsworth Avenue, two blocks north of Alameda and Potomac. The purpose of the event is twofold. First, to keep potential contaminants out of storm drains, streams and landfills, and second, to provide Roundup participants useful tips on pollution prevention. Volunteers are needed – if you are interested call 303-739-7372. Volunteers receive a delicious lunch, a great gift and do not need to wait in line to drop off their chemicals.
Notice:
Any dog being walked through our community must be on a leash and it is the owner’s responsibility to pick up their dog’s droppings.
