Oktoberfest 2002
It was a chilly afternoon, but there were few complaints when 38 of us in the Sanctuary gathered in the cul-de-sac of Blackhawk Way to enjoy German potato salad, brats cooked on the grill, sauerkraut and strudel, with lots of good German beers and wine to go along. We even had a little "oom pa pa" music to accompany our conversation (thanks to a boom box and some tapes). We got a lot of strange looks from traffic passing by on Caley, but they were probably just jealous of all the fun we were having, and the smells of the brats cooking. We hope to make this an annual event, so make plans to join us next year for more fun. Many thanks to the Social Committee for all the planning involved and hard work. And a special thanks to Jim and Anne Murlin for cooking the brats and trips to the store!
Coming Up….
Our next social event will be the Third Annual Cup of Cheer Open House, to be held December 8th. It will begin at 5:00pm at the home of Stan and Linda Massey and progress to continue the fun at Steve and Anne Jeffries' home at 6:30pm. If you have been in attendance for the past two years you know it is a wonderful, warm time of talking with neighbors and meeting new folks and making new friends. We encourage everyone to attend. Your price of admission is an appetizer to share; beverages are provided. Please call Linda, 720-870-7464 or Anne, 303-699-0159 for information or to help. Look for a flyer coming out soon.
PARKING
There are no covenants or rules that currently regulate the parking of operational personal vehicles in the visitors parking areas or on the streets of the Sanctuary. Some members of the community have indicated that there is a need for rules to manage the parking issue. The Board is interested in hearing from the entire community on this subject since any rule on parking would be applicable to all. The Board will allot some time at the annual meeting in December for public comment on this topic. The Board solicits verbal or written input prior to that time. Contact, write or e-mail any Board member with your comments. By Steve Jeffries
