401st/834th Supply Squadron

England Air Force Base was closed in December 1992. The England Authority became the operator of the 2,200 acres at that time. Located at England Airpark is Alexandria International Airport (AEX). A mixed use development, England Airpark has over 300 units of housing, 1.5 million square feet of commercial space. Aviation, transportation, manufacturing, education and health care opportunities exist on site. The golf course has undergone a major overhaul, changing it from a nine hole course to eighteen. The NCO base housing was expanded and turned into a very nice community for senior living. The local airport was changed from the old Esler Field in Pineville to the Airpark and renamed Alexandria International Airport.
